EMBASSY NEWS CELEBRATION OF THE INDEPEDENCE OF COTE D'IVOIRE IN LIBERIA

The national day of Cote d’Ivoire was celebrated on Thursday August 23 2018 in Monrovia, Liberia. The ceremony was attended by the H.E.Ms Ellen Johnson SIRLEAF, former president of Liberia, Ms Dewell GRAY Deputy minister for legal affairs, the Speaker Honorable Bhafol Chamber, officials of the Liberian government, the Doyen and members of the diplomatic corps, foreign and Ivorian business community as well as members of the Ivorian community in Liberia.
In his official speech, H.E.M Feni KOUAKOU, Ambassador of Cote d’Ivoire to Liberia welcomed the significant progress done by Cote d’Ivoire on one hand at the national level with good economic performances, the increase in the income of farmers and salaries, access to health, electricity and education and promotion of women and youth; the influence of cote d’Ivoire on the international arena on the other hand.
Furthermore, Ambassador Feni Kouakou congratulated President Alassane OUATTARA for his commitment to peace and true reconciliation, translated by the amnesty granted to 800 persons including Madam Simone Ehivet GBAGBO and some high profile civilians for whom all legal actions against them and their assets have been lifted.
To conclude, the Ambassador welcomed the excellence of the relations of friendship and cooperation that exist between Cote d’Ivoire to Liberia
